Privacy policy

Draft for review. This document has not been finalised and may change before launch.

Last updated 30 October 2026

This policy explains how RecruitAPI (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit this website or use our products, including the JobAdder MCP (the “Service”). We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Two kinds of information

Information about you. When you contact us, request a demo or create an account, we collect your name, work email, company, phone number and anything you choose to tell us, along with the date, the page you sent it from and your IP address, which help us spot spam and abuse. When you use the Service we keep account and usage records, such as who signed in, when, and which actions were run.

Information in your JobAdder account. When a consultant uses the Service, we fetch records from JobAdder (for example candidates, contacts, jobs and notes) to answer their request, and write back the changes they approve. For this information our customer, the recruitment agency, is responsible for it, and we handle it only on their instructions and to provide the Service.

2. How we use it

  • To provide, secure and support the Service.
  • To reply to enquiries and arrange demos.
  • To bill customers and keep business records.
  • To understand how the Service is used so we can improve it, using account and usage records, not the contents of your JobAdder records.

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use your JobAdder records to train AI models.

3. AI providers

The Service passes JobAdder records to the AI assistant your team chooses (such as Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot) so it can answer. That provider handles the information under your own agreement with them. Choosing a plan and settings that fit your privacy obligations is up to you; we can help you check them.

4. Who else we share it with

We use service providers to run the Service, such as hosting, email and payment providers, and share only what each needs. Some may store information outside Australia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to make sure it’s protected to the standard the Australian Privacy Principles require. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep JobAdder records only as long as needed to complete a request, and account records for as long as you’re a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, or longer where the law requires.

6. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies it needs to work. We don’t use advertising cookies.

7. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@recruitapi.com. If your information is held in a recruitment agency’s JobAdder account, we’ll refer your request to that agency. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
